I was working yesterday at 11.

She was watching TV when I arrived (Ella estaba viendo la tele cuando yo llegué)
He was driving very fast when the police stopped him (Estaba conduciendo muy rápido cuando la policia lo paró)
The post arrived while I was working on the project (El correo llegó mientras yo estaba trabajando en el proyecto)

I had seen Mary when I met her husband (Había visto a Mary cuando me encontré a su marido)
had seen = Past Perfect
met = Past Simple

He had written a lot of books before he won the Nobel Prize (Él había escrito muchos libros antes de que ganara el premio nobel)

AFFIRMATIVE (Suj + had + PAST PARTICIPLE)
I had worked
You had worked
He had worked
She had worked
It had worked
We had worked
You had worked
They had worked

NEGATIVE (Suj + hadn't + PAST PARTICIPLE)
I hadn't worked
You hadn't worked
He hadn't worked
She hadn't worked
It hadn't worked
We hadn't worked
You hadn't worked
They hadn't worked

INTERROGATIVE (Had + suj + PAST PARTICIPLE)

Had I worked?
Had you worked?
Had he worked?
Had she worked?
Had it worked?
Had we worked?
Had you worked?
Had they worked?
